the home depot: recommendations ux discovery
The recommendations space at The Home Depot is a complex space with varying strategies and touch points in the customer journey. As most of our team members, both product management and user experience, were new to the squads we needed to align on the strategic approach of recommendations. So I set out to help define the holistic end-to-end recommendations customer journey. Using the design thinking framework, empathize, define, ideate, design, and prototype as a guide I decided it would be beneficial to complete a UX discovery. The UX discovery would focus on identifying data, gathering information, completing a competitive analysis using UX principles, conducting a UX audit, establishing a governance, and completing internal interviews that would help identify opportunities for improvement.
