the home depot: frequently bought together redesign
The Home Depot site has a recommendations feature titled “frequently bought together” (FBT) that helps customers discover complementary products that go with the main product of interest. This feature is intended to support customers looking to make quick and trusted decisions when adding these products to their cart. FBT is one of the top grossing demand features on the home depot site and had not been evaluated in over five years. As part of the product page recommendation redesign, FBT was identified as a feature that would benefit from a UX audit. The base framework of FBT in 2022 was identified as working well. However, following a UX discovery I completed, opportunities for improvement were provided for the balanced team to consider in the recommendations quarterly roadmap.
